Biography
Dr. Vanessa Mari holds a Ph.D. in Culture, Literacy, and Language from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She earned her B.A. in English Literature and M.A. in English Education from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, and began her career as a high school English teacher in Puerto Rico. Dr. Mari is currently an Associate Professor of TESL at Â鶹Դ´. Her professional development experience includes serving as a Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay, working with rural teachers, and as an English Language Fellow in Peru. She was also a Specialist for the University of Duhok, Iraq. She is the founding president of Â鶹Դ´ns Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (NVTESOL) and has extensive experience building partnerships between K–12 schools and higher education institutions.
