Biography
Jessica (Parks) Limbrick, PhD, AFC® is an Assistant Professor of Business in the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business (LABS) at Âé¶¹Ô´´. She teaches various finance courses in the Financial Services Concentration such as Financial Planning, Investments, and Managerial Finance.
Research
Her research focuses primarily on the use of poverty simulations and college students’ attitudes towards poverty. She recently published a book chapter in Gamify Your College Classroom Strategies to Foster Critical Thinking and Life Skills Across Disciplines. She has seven peer-reviewed publications and has presented at conferences such as the American Council on Consumer Interests, ClassCrits, Georgia Southern University’s SOTL Commons Conference, Kennesaw State University SoTL Summit, and the Lily Conferences.
Service
Dr. Limbrick serves as the 2025-2026 Treasurer for the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE). In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, she is a conference proposal reviewer and awards program reviewer since 2021. She also volunteers for Junior Achievement of Southern Âé¶¹Ô´´ (JASN).
Hobbies
In her spare time, she enjoys watching Dateline and true crime, traveling, reading, game nights, and completing Sudoku and word puzzles
