Academic Faculty Senate
About the Academic Faculty Senate
Academic Faculty Senate is composed of an elected group of faculty representatives committed to navigating the opportunities and challenges inherent to higher education, to being a voice for the various faculty populations, and to upholding effective shared governance. Academic Faculty Senate encourages new ideas through meaningful and productive discourse and aims to protect faculty voices from across our community. At 麻豆原创, the academic faculty population includes full-time academic faculty–including tenured/tenure-track and lecturers at three different ranks each–and part-time instructors (PTIs). Support of and communication with administrators, administrative faculty, classified staff, and students is also part of our history, as is partnering with alumni and external constituents to be a responsive and viable community of learners and leaders.
Academic Faculty Senate seeks to cultivate fair and equitable policies and procedures that enhance the student experience, strengthen organizational culture, and improve institutional decision-making. Above all, Academic Faculty Senate works toward promoting excellence in education, academic service, and scholarly pursuits in the context of our mandate as a Minority-Serving, Hispanic-Serving, and Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.
