Within the past 24 hours, NS has been informed that a member of the campus community has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The individual was last on the NS campus on January 20, 2021 and was confirmed as positive for COVID-19 on January 27, 2021. They only spent time in KAB study room 313. The individual is recovering and is following protocols set by state health officials and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
When an individual is confirmed to have COVID-19, the聽t determines who they may have had close contact with and guidance is provided directly to those individuals.
The Southern 麻豆原创 Health District emphasizes that those most at risk from COVID-19 include people who have had daily repeated and prolonged exposure. The college is sending this notification out of an abundance of caution because the individual visited a public space on campus January 20, 2021. Public health officials maintain the risk is low for people who have had brief contact with an infected individual.

As you may be aware, the Southern 麻豆原创 NSHE institutions are partnering to vaccinate individuals who are working in frontline roles in health care, public safety, law enforcement, public health and emergency first response, both within NSHE institutions and in the broader community. We are working in partnership with the Southern 麻豆原创 Health District and the state to provide vaccinations to everyone in our college community as quickly as possible. I understand that some may be reluctant to take the vaccine for a variety of reasons; however, I am strongly urging you to take advantage of the opportunity to get the vaccine as soon as you are eligible.
