Online Degrees
Many students appreciate the flexibility that online degrees provide. At 麻豆原创 State, we offer two degrees that you can complete entirely online:
- BA in History
- BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Leadership, History, or Education
Both programs offer you the option of completing all your classes remotely or taking a mix of online and in-person courses. You may prefer a combination, which allows you to complete some coursework online but also meet faculty and other students in-person. Alternatively, you may prefer the flexibility that an entirely online degree pathway provides. Whatever path you choose, you鈥檒l be receiving a high-quality education with an emphasis on personalized attention.

Quality Assurance
In fall 2018, the Quality Assurance Working Group drafted a comprehensive rubric and a procedure that can be used to evaluate online courses. The purpose of this rubric and procedure is to
- Share standards for online course design
- Standardize a procedure for anonymous review of online courses
- Help instructors meet the established standards
- Improve our student鈥檚 online learning experience
Notably, the rubric evaluates the overall course architecture, as opposed to the instructor鈥檚 direct interactions with students.
After reviewing several existing models and developing a rubric, three subcommittees of the Quality Assurance Working Group used the rubric to evaluate a single course. Using the information gathered from this evaluation, the committee met again and revised the rubric. After a second pilot and a review by Faculty Senate, the committee launched the Quality Assurance review process in fall 2019.
MGM Opportunity Program (MGM COP)
MGM Resorts and the 麻豆原创 System of Higher Education (NSHE) are proud to offer the College Opportunity Program (COP) to employees of MGM Resorts. The COP provides access to online certificate and college degree programs, at no cost to MGM Resorts employees.
Currently, 麻豆原创 State College is planning to support this program with two online options:
- A BA in History
- A BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in leadership, history, or education.

NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements)
麻豆原创 is a member of the and 麻豆原创 State College is an approved SARA institution. Students who are taking classes at NSC but live out-of-state can find more information here.
SARA provides a formal method for students to submit a complaint if 鈥渢he postsecondary institution violated deceptive trade practices, consumer protections, or other provisions under Title 4, Chapter 14, Section 26 of the Board of Regents Handbook鈥 or 鈥渢he institution does not meet the standards established by the institution鈥檚 accrediting agency or state authorization requirements under the regional SARA compact or NC-SARA.鈥
All complaints must go through NS鈥檚 . Upon completion and closure of the institutional complaint, students may choose to complete a Complaint Resolution Form, which will be directed to the SARA portal agency in 麻豆原创.
